A conversation with Stefania Binello

Locanda Mistral, Valle Maira, Piemont - Una chiacchierata con Stefania Bindello
Stefania, Anna and Valdo produce different types of honey, depending on the time of year and spontaneous blooming. They use only natural techniques that are free of any chemicals.

In this blog series, we’re featuring our partners and suppliers. Today we talk with  Stefania Binello.

Stefania, Anna and Valdo produce different types of honey, depending on the time of year and spontaneous blooming. They use only natural techniques that are free of any chemicals. The three made sure that the hives are optimally located and that the bees can move freely to find the best flowers. The result is simply amazing: good, healthy and natural honey, which of course is enjoyed by all the guests of the Inn.

Dear Stefania, could you tell us a little about yourself and your products?

We are two companies working together to produce honey.

Our apiaries are mainly stationary (they are not moved) and are located in Valle Maira and Valle Pellice above 700 metres. We produce mostly wildflower, chestnut and linden honey.

Your products are typical of the Valle Maira: what makes them special? How long have you been making them?

The strength of our business lies in the fact that we enjoy working together and have fun doing it. Also, we try to follow the rhythms of the bees' lives, which means avoiding stressors as much as possible.

Sustainability is a focus and strength at Locanda Mistral, what does sustainability mean to you? And how does it influence your products?

Perhaps it’s a matter of priority: care for the environment on one hand, for quality of human relationships on the other, and of course pay attention to small things. These concerns should always be a priority.

What are three things our readers should do in the valley? What should they definitely experience/see/try the next time they visit the Valle Maira?

  1. Pause briefly to listen to the sounds and silence while enjoying the view.
  2. Chat and get to know local people.
  3. Build quality relationships with the people you meet.

In conclusion, is there a question we haven't asked you yet? What else do you want to say or write to our readers?

Enjoy your stay in Valle Maira :-)!
